The Marathon GOAT

8 – the number of¬†marathons¬†Eliud Kipchoge has won in a row (9 when we include¬†Nike’s Breaking2),¬†7 of which are majors.¬†The Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Eliud Kipchoge, the Marathon GOAT, shaved over half a minute from the previous marathon world record in the 2018 Berlin Marathon (2:01:39). Interestingly, Kipchoge was so fast on the streets of Berlin that 2 of his 3 pacesetters dropped off 15 minutes into the blistering race held on 16th Sep 2018.

In fact, Kipchoge’s third pacesetter dropped off almost halfway into the race – after which Marathon GOAT actually sped up ūü§£. Amos Kipruto (also a Kenya) was second in the race (2:06:23)¬†– 5 minutes after Kipchoge.
