So they asked: “Can you keep up with Eliud Kipchoge’s pace for 200 meters?” P.S. 12 mph is hard AF 🤣.
The “Eliud Kipchoge’s pace” challenge came up for the 2018 Chicago Marathon expo attendees – but with amusing outcomes.
On a 20-foot-long treadmill, different runners attempted to keep up with Eliud Kipchoge’s pace, but on a 200 meters distance. Check these Great Cheer Shoes.

Some runners used running shoes like the Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo (shoes great for Achilles Tendonitis), others went barefoot, or even dress shoes.
(Large treadmill, 13 miles/ hour, many DNFs)
Remember: Kipchoge (Marathon GOAT) – ran this pace for more than 2 hours 🤣. Read Also: Shoes for HIIT Training.
The Marathon GOAT
8 – the number of marathons Eliud Kipchoge has won in a row (9 when we include Nike’s Breaking2), 7 of which are majors. The Abbott World Marathon Majors.
Eliud Kipchoge, the Marathon GOAT, shaved over half a minute from the previous marathon world record in the 2018 Berlin Marathon (2:01:39).
Interestingly, Kipchoge was so fast on the streets of Berlin that 2 of his 3 pacesetters dropped off 15 minutes into the blistering race held on 16th Sep 2018. Read Also: Shoes For Squats.
In fact, Kipchoge’s third pacesetter dropped off almost halfway into the race – after which Marathon GOAT actually sped up 🤣. Amos Kipruto (also a Kenya) was second in the race (2:06:23) – 5 minutes after Kipchoge.
